Interpretation of national standards for environmentally friendly degradable tableware.

Regarding degradable tableware, my country has formulated and implemented a set of special technical standards at the end of 2020, namely "General Technical Requirements for Disposable Degradable Tableware" (GB18006.3-2020), which clarifies the definition and classification of degradable tableware , Technical requirements, environmental protection requirements, etc., have become the basis for market supervision and food inspection. The following explains the key content of the word standard requirements.
The degradable tableware defined in the general technical requirements refers to products that can be decomposed into simple compounds, inorganic salts, biological dead bodies and other substances under natural action or under specific conditions (including aqueous culture fluid, composting, anaerobic digestion). Its categories include cups, bowls, plates, spoons, lunch boxes, knives, forks, chopsticks, and even pots, barrels, milk tea cups and other structures.
Degradable tableware includes the basic classification criteria for high temperature resistance and non-high temperature resistance. Its appearance should be normal in color, defect-free, and mildew-free, with smooth edges, easy to use, and sufficient strength and ability to fold in half. At the same time, as a container, it has sufficient waterproof and anti-permeability properties. It is important that no harmful media is released during use, and the decomposition products of environmentally friendly degradable tableware will not pollute the natural environment.
In addition, the national standards for environmentally degradable tableware have clear requirements for product inspection standards, packaging, and transportation. Only when the standards are met can they be certified for food hygiene production licenses.
